Perfect Martini

Last night I picked up a bottle of Carpano Antica sweet vermouth.  As it is only available in 1L bottles, I have been flipping through cocktail recipes that call for sweet vermouth.  I’m not a huge fan of the Martini.  However, the perfect martini with it’s 50/50 mix of dry and sweet vermouth has always sounded intriguing.  I’m very pleased with the results.

Tonight’s recipe:

Perfect Martini

2 oz Gin (No 209)
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica)
1/2 oz Dry Vermouth (Dolin)
2 Olives

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a mixing glass over ice.
  2. Stir for 15-30 seconds until glass is ice cold.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with two olives.
